With GPUG 2017 coming to Nashville, we are sure the attendees are waiting with bated breath.  The venue chosen for the summit ‘Gaylord Opryland Hotel’ is a remarkable sight in itself, and from the moment people arrive for GPUG, they are set to be inspired, enlightened and amazed.

While attendees keenly look forward to MS GPUG 2107, there are some must-visit places to visit while in Nashville. Here is the list of places to visit while you are at Nashville for GPUG 2017.

1. Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum


This is the best place where music and history meet (similar to Magento and Dynamics ERP systems). Peruse the plaques dedicated to the world class musicians like Patsy Cline and Johnny Cash. View the famous artifacts like to gold Cadillac of Elvis Presley and Jimmie Rodgers’ guitar.

For the history buffs, there is an interactive history lesson showing the origin of country music titled ‘Sing me Back home’, an exhibit that spans two floors.

2. Belmont Mansion

If you love historic places, then do find time for the breathtaking Belmont mansion- the largest house museum in Nashville. This Italian styled marvel was built in the year 1853 by Adelicia Acklen and sprawls 19,000 sq feet with 36 rooms.

A tour of this mansion takes the visitors to a bygone era, with its well-preserved interiors. Visitors should note that parking around the mansion is limited.

Location: This property is located on Belmont University Campus, 14 miles from Gaylord Opryland Hotel. The mansion is open Monday to Saturday 10am to 4pm and Sunday 11 am to 4 pm. For more information, check their official website.

3. The Hermitage

This building takes the visitors into an important part of American history, by making them relive the home life of President Andrew Jackson. All Americans are aware of President Jackson’s role in WW1 that made him a legend.

A tour around the 1000 acre estate would give a glimpse of his personal life by checking the kitchen, log cabin, main house and Jackson’s tomb.

Location: This property is located 11 miles from Gaylord Opryland Hotel. The Hermitage is open daily from October 16th to March 31st between 9 am to 4 30 pm and from April 1st to October 15th from 8 30 am to 5 pm. For more information, check their official website.

4. Adventure Science Center

This museum is a must visit for every science buff. Interactive displays allows visitors to learn about the wide variety of things like what goes on in our human body to what goes thousands of light years ahead.

Get into flight simulators and learn what it takes to become an astronaut. There are numerous other attractions in the museum.

5. The Parthenon

Nashville is widely known as the city of music and famously known as ‘Athens of the South’. Staying in true to its nickname, a full-scale replica of the original Parthenon of Athens is located in Nashville. Intended as a temporary structure for Tennessee Centennial exposition in 1897, it became a permanent fixture and a major attraction.

This property is famous for its peaceful atmosphere, well-kept grounds, Greek sculptures and artwork.

6. Ryman Auditorium

Ryman Auditorium. The auditorium hosts contemporary acts like Earth, Wind, Fire and Hunter Hayes. The visitors are suggested to take a tour of the auditorium to know about the rich Nashvillian musical heritage.

Visitors can spot the historic dressing rooms still is use along with rare photographs and memorabilia of legends like Johnny Cash and Louis Armstrong.

7. Johnny Cash museum

We reserved the best for the last. What good is a trip to Nashville without revisiting the era of Johnny Cash. The museum which was opened in 2013 boasts of a large collection of Johnny Cash memorabilia which includes films, original letters penned by him and 25 costumes made famous during his illustrious career.

Visitors even get a glimpse of Johnny Cash famous moments such as year in Air Force, his marriage to June Carter and his famous Prison concert tour.
